Terms of Use

These terms apply when you read, search, or otherwise use McMinn County Criminal History. Accessing any part of the website means you accept them. Please stop using the site if you do not agree.

NO FCRA USE. This privately owned website has no affiliation with a government body. Neither it nor its advertising partners provides a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). McMinn County criminal-record reference information is not a consumer report, and we are not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government connection. It does not store official records, conduct official checks, retrieve files, or submit documents for a visitor.

The material identifies custodians of McMinn County records, including the sheriff, criminal courts, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also connect to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the website must remain lawful and must not interfere with others. You agree not to:

  • Use bots, scrapers, or automated collection tools on these pages
  • Stalk, threaten, or harass anyone with information found here
  • Attempt to enter systems or data without authorization
  • Make hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions from site content
  • Disrupt service or prevent others from using the website
  • Violate federal, Tennessee, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Site content and linked tools may not be used to stalk, intimidate, threaten, harass, or discriminate against anyone. Tennessee Sex Offender Registry data exists for public-safety awareness. Tennessee law does not authorize vigilantism, and misuse against a registrant may lead to criminal or civil consequences.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create consumer reports, credit files, or official background checks. Site data and linked tools cannot be used to:

  • Set credit terms or insurance premiums
  • Evaluate a rental or housing application
  • Make an employment decision
  • Determine eligibility for a license, permit, or public program
  • Serve any other purpose regulated by the FCRA

A regulated check must come from an authorized, FCRA-compliant provider or the appropriate official Tennessee Bureau of Investigation channel.

5. No Legal Advice

General information about McMinn County records is not legal advice. Only a licensed Tennessee attorney can assess how a charge, warrant, conviction, or expungement rule affects a particular matter.

6. No Warranties

All content is offered "as is." We make no promise that:

  • Partner search results will be accurate or complete
  • Every page is free of bugs, errors, or security flaws
  • The service will remain available without interruption
  • Information will always be current, complete, or correct

Charges, dispositions, restrictions, and expungements can change a record. Gaps may remain even when reference material is updated. Nothing here is an official statement from a court, sheriff, or agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to courts, sheriffs, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. We do not control a destination's content, availability, data practices, or prices. Its own terms apply after you leave this website.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, logos, graphics, and code belong to McMinn County Criminal History or its content partners. Written permission is required to copy, alter, distribute, or create derivative works from that material.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for damages arising from use of the website, its information, or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to hold us harmless from claims or demands caused by your site use or breach of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

Tennessee law governs these terms. Any dispute tied to website use must be brought in a court located in Tennessee.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. A new version takes effect when it is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or ended at any time, with or without prior notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all other provisions remain effective. The affected language will be narrowed only as needed.

15. Questions
