Why We Built This Site
Tennessee provides several public routes to justice records, yet each route answers a different question. McMinn County's sheriff maintains arrest and booking material, while the Circuit Court Clerk keeps filed charges, dockets, and dispositions. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation runs the statewide criminal-history repository, the Tennessee Department of Correction publishes felony custody and supervision information, and the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry serves a separate public-safety role. We bring the official contacts, request procedures, fees, and search tools for those custodians together.
What You Will Find Here
- Agency contacts: where to reach the McMinn County sheriff, criminal courts, and statewide record systems
- Record guides: how criminal court case records are requested and read in McMinn County
- Record cleanup information: where eligible Tennessee expungement requests begin and which agencies receive an order
- Official check instructions: how TBI name searches differ from authorized fingerprint checks
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference site, not part of a Tennessee court, police department, sheriff's office, or state agency. Those boundaries mean we cannot:
- Issue certified court papers, criminal histories, or other official copies
- Submit a public-records request or expungement filing for a visitor
- Run an official criminal-history search on anyone's behalf
- Interpret a charge, warrant, or case as legal advice
- Promise that an agency's hours, fees, or contact details have not changed
An official record must come from its custodian, such as the McMinn County sheriff, Circuit Court Clerk, or Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. We only identify the proper route.
Search Partners
Third-party companies power search boxes shown on some pages. They control their own prices, data handling, and results. We may receive a referral payment if a visitor follows one of those tools and purchases a service, which supports free access to the reference material. We do not control the provider's fees or the completeness of its output.
